North.cloud has raised $60 million in Series B funding to expand its platform for managing cloud infrastructure, AI usage, and data costs. The round, announced October 15, is led by PeakSpan Capital, with participation from Litquidity, Companyon Ventures, Alpaca, Uncommon Denominator, Gaingels, and Mana Ventures.
The financing targets a problem that becomes harder as AI moves into production: a product’s operating costs can span cloud compute, model APIs, and data platforms, while the people responsible for those bills work from separate systems. North aims to connect that financial picture with automation that reduces spending and the work involved in managing it.
The company says it is approaching $2 billion in managed cloud spend and has helped customers save more than $400 million. It will use the capital to expand optimization across cloud providers, deepen integrations, accelerate AI spend management, and grow its engineering, product, and go-to-market teams.
Cloud financial operations, often shortened to FinOps, involves connecting technology usage to business costs and deciding how to improve the economics. That includes understanding who generated a bill, whether resources are appropriately sized, and whether discounted purchasing arrangements match actual demand.
AI adds another layer. A business may pay for infrastructure that hosts an application while separately paying a model provider for the tokens that application consumes. Understanding one invoice does not necessarily explain the cost of serving a customer or completing a workflow.
North’s funding announcement follows the launch of North v3, which added Microsoft Azure support alongside Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform. The company says that release also introduced native integrations with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Snowflake and extended automated commitment management through its Autobot product.
The strategy builds on North’s earlier cloud FinOps platform, which Unite.AI covered in 2025. The current expansion broadens its focus from cloud savings to a connected view of infrastructure, AI, and data spending.
One route to lower cloud costs is purchasing discounted capacity through commitments.
