NVIDIA on October 8, 2026, announced commitments valued at $1 billion to build out U.S. capacity for super intelligence research and development over the next five years, in fields the company described as critical for U.S. leadership, including quantum computing, healthcare and energy security.
The announcement was made during the Science: A New Golden Age event in Washington, D.C., where U.S. officials, industry leaders and members of the science community convened to discuss the public-private collaborations needed to bolster scientific exploration.
In its announcement, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang tied the investment to President Trump’s Genesis Mission and said the company is “putting advanced Super Intelligence in the hands of America’s scientists to accelerate breakthroughs in medicine, energy and materials.”
During the event, the U.S. Office of Science and Technology Policy marked the expansion of the Genesis Mission, an initiative in which NVIDIA describes itself as a leading industry partner. NVIDIA said it has invited members of the science community to collaborate on research and development using compute and super intelligence infrastructure resources, with the stated aim of accelerating scientific discovery and promoting U.S. innovation.
NVIDIA said that over the next five years it will direct the $1 billion toward advancing super intelligence for science and quantum computing across the U.S. through support of the nation’s higher-education research institutions. The commitment also includes investments aimed at accelerating American quantum leadership and support for cloud service providers bolstering U.S. government mission needs.
