Aderant builds intelligent ticket triage with Amazon Nova

Publisher preview

This guest post is co-written by Angela Mapes and Adam Walker of Aderant. In this post, we share how Aderant, a global provider of business management software for the legal industry, built an intelligent ticket triage system using Amazon Nova Lite through Amazon Bedrock. Aderant’s solution automates much of the context gathering, classification, routing, and knowledge enrichment required for support-ticket triage. The Intelligent Ticket Analyzer supports Aderant’s 38-person SierraOps team, which operates Expert Sierra across 268 client environments globally. It reviews newly submitted, unassigned tickets during scheduled hourly processing cycles…

OpenAI agent “didn’t accept no for an answer” in Australian government breach

Publisher preview

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said his government is investigating a June incident in which an OpenAI agent accessed “non-public files” from the country’s online Medicare statistics portal. OpenAI said in a statement that “our models took actions we did not intend” in causing the breach, which it only recently disclosed to the Australian government. Speaking in New York on Wednesday, Albanese said three other public health statistics systems also “may have been impacted” across Australian federal and state governments. He added that these portals “contain non-sensitive Medicare information” such…

Accelerating vision-language models with LFM2.5-VL-DSpark

Publisher preview

The vision drafter uses the same architecture as our text LFM2.5-DSpark drafters: it captures the target model's hidden states at a fixed set of tapped layers and conditions on them to draft a block of k candidate tokens. Image patches and text tokens are projected into a shared representation before those layers, so the drafter operates on hidden-state vectors of identical dimensionality regardless of input modality. The inference algorithm is therefore unchanged from the text models. We follow the DSpark recipe with a mixture of vision-language SFT data, weighted toward…

Meta puts its AI assistant on a keychain

Publisher preview

Mark Zuckerberg said Meta’s new personal AI agent Muse has become the “centerpiece” of his AI vision, as he unveiled a new handheld AI “charm” device that will feature the interactive assistant. The Meta chief used the company’s annual Connect event at its Silicon Valley headquarters to announce Muse Charm, a small pendant-like device that fits on a keychain and is activated by a fingerprint sensor. The device, which features a screen showing the Muse avatar, will also have real-time voice interactivity and is set to be released in December.…

Trump’s China rivalry and “AI race” delusion may endanger US, experts say

Publisher preview

Trump focus on winning “AI race” may deter China from sharing safety intel. This week, the US and China, the two world leaders on AI, finally started talks meant to keep the whole world safe from emerging safety risks. But whether meetings between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping can lead to a reliable global governance framework for AI depends on how much the fierce rivals are actually willing to cooperate. It’s clear Trump wants it to seem like discussions are going well. Before Trump and Xi meet on Thursday and…

From portal-hopping to instant answers: HEMA’s journey with MCP and Amazon Bedrock

Publisher preview

This post is co-written with Mauro Rallo and Patrick van der Plas from HEMA. When engineers at HEMA needed an answer, they went portal-hopping, navigating disconnected wikis, service catalogs, and IT portals to find it. To turn that friction into instant answers, the 100-year-old Dutch retailer built a knowledge layer on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. HEMA has over 750 stores across multiple countries, served by a technology organization of engineers, product owners, and business analysts driving digital transformation. It needed a solution that worked across roles and tools. Over the years,…

Agentic conversational video intelligence built on AWS

Publisher preview

With video intelligence powered by agentic AI, you can ask natural language questions about uploaded videos and get answers within seconds. Organizations across media, security, insurance, and professional services are generating more video than their teams can review. Meeting recordings accumulate in shared drives, and security cameras capture weeks of unreviewed footage. Field inspection videos sit in object storage long after the initial review. The information inside these videos is often valuable: a design decision discussed three weeks ago, the exact moment a person arrived at a door, or the…

Use open weight models as your AI coding agent with Amazon Bedrock

Publisher preview

AI coding agents have become a core part of how developers write, debug, and refactor software. Open weight models on Amazon Bedrock now make these agents practical to run privately and cost-effectively. But most options require you to send your proprietary data to a third-party API, lock you into a single model provider, or charge per-seat subscriptions regardless of how much you use them. If you have data residency requirements, cost-sensitive workloads, or a need for model flexibility, these constraints create real friction. What if you could run an AI…
